After prayers we went to the hall to see Dylan play his drums. I liked his music and when he flicked his sticks up into the air. It looked cool.

Floating Egg
As part of our Inquiry unit we carried out an experiment using an egg, salt and water. The aim was to see if we could make an egg float in water. We initially placed the egg into a container of tap water. Then we began adding measured amounts of salt until the egg floated. This experiment has left us with some questions. Please feel free to leave us a comment to help us answer these questions.
How can salt make things float in water?
If a big boat had a hole in the side of it, will it float in the Dead Sea?

A visit to school by our special friends
On Friday as part of a unit on mass the children were able to bring a soft toy to school that could fit into their school bags. Four stations were set up around the classroom.
The first station had us using two plastic bags tied to a piece of elastic that had been taped across the support beams in the classroom. The tops of the plastic bags needed to be lined up before we put a soft toy into each plastic bag. The aim was to find out which soft toy was the heaviest. We repeated the process to find out who had the lightest soft toy too.
Station two was using Miss Swney's electronic kitchen scales.
Station three was a set of VERY heavy balance scales. A soft toy was put into each of the two silver trays to find out the heaviest and then the lightest soft toy.
We also took time to read a story to our special friends.
